Journeys

Journeys are an extension of how I photograph — slowly, intentionally, and with respect for the places and people we encounter.

These are not trips built around checklists or constant movement. They are opportunities to spend real time in extraordinary environments, to observe carefully, and to photograph from a place of presence rather than urgency.

Whether in Africa or elsewhere in the world, each journey is designed to allow space — for waiting, for listening, and for moments to unfold on their own terms.

What These Journeys Are

Journeys are immersive photographic experiences for those who want more than surface-level travel.

They are for people who want to:

  • photograph with intention rather than accumulation

  • learn how to wait for moments instead of chasing them

  • understand light, behavior, and context — not just settings

  • move respectfully through unfamiliar places

Small groups allow for flexibility, quiet observation, and meaningful access.

There is time built in for instruction, conversation, and reflection — but just as much time for silence.

Africa

In Africa, these photographic journeys and safaris focus on both wildlife and human presence — and on the relationship between the two.

We spend time in environments where animals still move according to instinct, and where communities continue to live in connection with land, tradition, and ritual. Many of these ways of life are changing rapidly. Being present now matters.

These are not staged experiences.
They are lived ones.

Photography here requires patience, restraint, and respect — qualities I emphasize throughout each journey.

How We Work

I don’t lead from the front with constant direction.
I walk alongside you.

We photograph the same way I work:

  • by observing first

  • by waiting longer than feels comfortable

  • by allowing moments to arrive rather than forcing them

There is guidance throughout — on composition, light, timing, and approach — but always in service of helping you develop your own way of seeing.

Who These Journeys Are For

These journeys are well suited for:

  • photographers looking to deepen their practice

  • artists seeking meaningful experience over volume

  • people drawn to culture, wildlife, and quiet observation

  • those comfortable with unpredictability and patience

You don’t need to be an expert.
You do need to be present.

An Invitation

Journeys aren’t about going somewhere exotic.
They’re about learning how to be somewhere fully.
